What a weekend it has been in the Leisure Leagues Stadium!

Players from around the world have been proudly representing their countries as the World Cup 2019 kicked off in fine style.

The matches so far have had everything, while off the pitch, we have seen former France International Djibril Cisse spinning the decks as Greek chart toppers Onirama played a gig on the pitch.

All this coupled with thousands of people locked out as the World Cup fever gripped Rethymno means the Socca World Cup is the hottest ticket in town.

All the home nations have been in action so far. England, Scotland and Wales all won, and our friends from Ireland acquitted themselves fabulously in defeat.

Scotland had their deadly strike force of Joe Andrew and Iain Anderson in the scoring groove early, with three of the four goals against Ireland, England’s star man Dean McDonald notched one of their two against Argentina, and Laurent Mondo scored one of Wales’ three as they gained some revenge for the loss to Belgium last year
